A wheel-thrown ceramic tumbler glazed with materials collected during the construction and demolition of a warehouse in Collingwood. This set of earthy brown tones feature either brick cutting sludge or brick rubble in the glaze, in the percentages below.

This series of ceramics explore the use of reclaimed brick, tile and brick cutting sludge collected from 47 Easey Street in 2022. Each ceramic tile or cup holds memory, and expresses the character of the warehouse’s history from a 1900’s bootmaker, to PBS FM headquarters, to 47ES.

Georgia Stevenson works and innovates with construction and demolition by-products through her research project, Breaking Ground. Glaze development for this series is generously supported by the City of Yarra.

The interior and lip edge of the tumbler is lined with a food-safe simple clear glaze.

Measures approximately 85mm diameter x 80mm high, and capacity ~270-300ml.

Comes packaged in a recycled cardboard box (105×105×115mm), with a Material Provenance and Authenticity Certificate printed on recycled paper.
