A handbuilt, slab-rolled ceramic mesh wall hanging created by Georgia Stevenson in her Melbourne studio.

This ceramic mesh is one of a limited series that explores shadows, form, and negative space. This limited series of wall hangings draws on inspiration from architectural references. The clay has been pushed to its limits with the thinnest connections possible while maintaining its integrity. Each mesh tests a different type of manipulation (or idea), particularly with shadows or loosening/retaining shape during firing through propping up targeted areas with additional formwork. 

Small Linear Freeform | One of the first tests for this series, to understand freehand cutting techniques (rather than a steel cutter). There is a small crack in one portion of the wall hanging - this is not viewed as a fault.

Dimensions approx. 10.5cm across x 18.5cm high

To note: Wall hangings can be hung in any orientation or composition. For this reason, there is no fixing or wire attached.
